Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni made a fantastic 148-run partnership helping India to win a battle of abrasion on a slow-moving track at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground, Delhi on Saturday and took a 2-1 lead in the 7-ODI series. The Partnership was started between the two when India was struggling with a score of 53-3 with Sehwag Sachin and Gambhir was home. Yuvraj made a fantastic knock of 78 from 96 balls and got out when India was 29 runs short for a win. Indian skipper Ms Dhoni then took the charge and led India to a comprehensive victory against the Aussies with 6 wickets in hands. He also made a great knock of 71 from 95 balls.

Australian Captain Ricky Ponting won the toss and decided to bat first as due t the condition of the pitch. Indian bowlers made a tight recovery and restricted Australia within 229.” A total of 220 can be a very good score in this pitch,” Ponting said and Australia’s approach at the time of batting reflected all his mindset. Ponting and Watson opened the batting as there was no Tim Paine. Ponting made 59 of 92 balls and Watson was out making 41 runs of 59 balls. The score was extended due to Mike Hussy as he played a fantastic knock of 81 runs of 82 balls and helped the Aussies to reach a score of 229.
