pakistan14th Nov. 2009, Washington:

China provided Pakistan with weapons grade uranium for two bombs in 1982, acc to the notes which were made by the father of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons programme, the Washington post reported this on Friday.

Abdul Qadeer also said that, “china also provided a blueprint to Pakistan which helped to make the nuclear weapon programme faster”.

After this reports came out, Pakistan evidently, rejected this report, saying as “baseless”. Pakistan said, “this was evidently timed to create difference between china and Pakistan”, a Pakistan foreign ministry spokesperson said.

The post said that, “the deliberate act of proliferation was culmination of a secret nuclear which was struck in1976 by Chinese leader MAO Zedong and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto”.

Khan also wrote that, “upon my personal request, the Chinese minister had gifted us with 50kg of weapon grade which was enriched with uranium, enough for making two weapons” Khan prepared the narrative for Pakistani intelligence officer after his January 2004 detention for unauthorized nuclear commerce.

The post said, china had long denied about helping any other nations to acquire nuclear weapon, but khan accounts do confirm of china’s help. However, the foreign ministry has slammed this report by claiming it of distraction from India.
