Minimum of 20 people have been killed in the bomb attack in a market in central Pakistan. About 50 other people were wounded in the blast in the Dera Ghazi Khan that also badly damaged a number of buildings. The Officials say that the target may have been a provincial official who was rather unhurt. Pakistan has recently been hit by very long string of attacks which have left hundreds of people dead or injured. The Dera Ghazi Khan lies very close to the region where the army of Pakistan is carrying out the offensive against the Taliban. The government said that the operation has gone well but many Pakistanis are in fear that the militants have simply escaped to the neighboring towns or cities like Dera Ghazi Khan, where they will be continuing to cause the chaos.
The Police believe that the Tuesday’s blast was caused by the car bomb. The whole market has been collapsed. There is smoke and people running here and there. The Heavy machinery like cranes and bulldozers, are used to move a large chunks of concrete from the scene of this blast, amid fears that the people may be trapped underneath. An emergency has been declared at all the local hospitals.
