The Three airports have been suspended their flights and hundreds of schools have been closed after a heavy snowfall across many large areas of the north of England. The Manchester Airport has suspended flights and there are no flights out of the Liverpool John Lennon or the Leeds Bradford.

The Motorists have also been warned for not to travel unless it is very necessary. The snow is expected to move in the Midlands later with up to up to 10cm predicted in places. The Air passengers have been urged to check the flight status with the particular airlines. The Bus operator Stagecoach said that it had suspended many of its services across the Greater Manchester because of these conditions, but was trying to operate on some main routes into the city.

Roads in the higher ground in Greater Manchester have been described as poor in some of the areas. Greater Manchester Police also urged the public to only call 999 in an emergency, where there was a threat to life or a crime in progress. Elsewhere in the country other ten train services between London and Leeds on the East Coast Main Line have also been cancelled. More than around 100 schools have been closed in the Greater Manchester and a similar number in the Lancashire. Some roads in higher remote areas of Oldham and Rochdale can not be passed by even.
