On 2 august 2010, the central bureau of investigation (CBI) wants the Home minister of Gujarat for five more days to interrogate in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case.

As the investigating team said to the court that shah did not cooperate in the last remand and he always says he did not know any thing about the case. The team opposed the bail plea of the minister and told the court that if would get the bail he could affect the witness and the authority who investigate it.

Meanwhile, Shah’s defence lawyer Ram Jethmalani argued that the CBI has failed to interrogate and questioned Shah when he wan in custody and try to destroy his political career. The CBI has charged Shah with murder, extortion, abduction and conspiracy in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case.

Last week the CBI has interrogate Shah three days in jail and said that he did not cooperate at all and always denied any involvement in the case. The Supreme Court on January 12 has handed over the investigation of the case to the CBI asking it to place before it the report on the progress of the probe within six months by July 31.

Most of the Shah’s replies were fake according to the investigating agency.

“He has feigned  ignorance and loss of memory and is getting away by saying that ‘I do not know and I do not remember,” sources said.
