Flash Back of India- Sri Lanka Series

The collapse against Ajantha Mendis and Muttiah Muralitharan in Test matches of India against Sri Lanka had raised expectations from the Indian one-day team exponentially, but on 27th of August at night, when a group of men shouted and yelped at the Premadasa Stadium, nearly each and everyone give a standing ovation in appreciation to the Indian Team Performance. For India, this 3-2 victory, decorated by the extra ordinary efforts of their mid-pacers and the trustworthy bat of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, always proved a bit heavy on the Lankan tigers.
India’s batting was much better than that of the Lankans. Lankan batsman failed in even chasing small scores of India. India was the more reliable team and were the most deserving side to triumph the series, but it was not a completely glib triumph, as leaving Suresh Raina and Dhoni, India’s batsmen failed. Indian consistent opener Gautam Gambhir, after a well played Test series, had a totally unacceptable outing. He at no ocassions got past the Powerplays. His efforts to take on the medium-pacers led to his collapse. Same was the case for Yuvraj Singh, who got thrust and poked and just managing 72 runs in the series. Talented Rohit Sharma’s performance will also be under question after a deprived series, though proved out to be a sufferer of bad umpiring on two occasions.

Golden Offer Of 25m £ For Berbatov

Sir Alex Ferguson after making his move yesterday is expecting to land the Bulgarian probably by the end of this week. Berbatov, was handed in a transfer appeal previous week, was absent at the Spurs side which banged 2-1 at their home ground to Sunderland yesterday. “The player was not in the accurate state to play. It’s the club’s judgment to fine him. I had a talk with him prior to the game.” Furious Spurs boss Juande Ramos confessed to the media.
“It does not matter how superior a player is, but if player is not in the correct frame of mind set, then he will not give his cent percent in the field as well and I feel that he will not be good for the dressing room.” Berbatov is keen to go and with Ferguson spinning up the heat with his most recent bid, it appears definite that Spurs will be forced to sell. United offered him a £20m bid bowed down 10 days ago but they were told to return with £30m.

Policy Of “Attack Is The Best Defense” Against Mendis

After pulling out a gamble on Sunday by playing with three seemers and a spinner, one must say that numbers went right for him that day. Usually Dhoni plays with five bowlers but things were lot different this time. Dhoni might be satisfied with his own form as well. He played a sparkling knock of 76 last Sunday to guide his team to a match winning score.
Even after consecutive two wins against Sri Lanka, M factor terror is still their on Indian batsman. Mendis took three wickets in last ODI as well. But Dhoni now seems to have find the way out now to sort this trouble. He says the only way out to negotiate Mendis is to attack him. Attacking this bowler and taking him for few runs will take him under pressure. Dhoni is now with the famous saying that Attack is the Best Defense. He feels that if you will keep defending Mendis he will always be right on top. So its must to attack him. Dhoni feels that playing with seven batsman is more advantageous in these circumstances than to play with the fifth bowler. He thinks that part time bowler can prove out to be a handy trump card.
